It was an emotional moment in Century star Shivaraj Kumar's career as he completed 25 years. His first Kannada film Anand was released 25 years ago. His 100th film Jogayya was launched recently on his 48th birthday. The movie was launched with much fanfare in Bangalore's prestigious Kanteerava Indoor Stadium which witnessed the presence of Mega Star Chiranjeevi, Vijay, Suriya.

On the 16th and 17th of July, Shivaraj Kumar had invited media representatives and personalities from film industry to his residence to thank them. He had invited retired journalists who had reported about him one time or the other. More than one hundred fifty journalists had gathered in his house.

Shivaraj Kumar's mother Ms.Parvathamma Rajkumar, his wife Ms.Geetha Shivarajkumar and his two brothers Raghavendra Rajkumar and Puneet Rajkumar were also present. It was an emotional moment for the actor. He started his speech, but could not continue as tears rolled down. "We are such a close knit family. I feel my father (Dr. Raj Kumar) should have been here to express his happiness and satisfaction over my growth in the industry", said Shivaraj Kumar.

Shivaraj Kumar thanked the media for their criticism. "In the early part of my career my diction was not perfect. I have seen many reviewers pointing this out. I worked hard to improve my diction. My training in the then Madras film institute also has helped me", said Shivaraj Kumar.

Kannada film industry's leading producer Ms. Parvathamma Rajkumar remembered the initial days of the actor and said that her son has grown in the industry by sheer hard work. His two brothers also spoke highly of him. Puneet Rajkuamr just said that he would always be looking towards Shivaraj Kumar for any guidance and underlined that he had always treated his brother as a friend despite their age difference.

On Saturday evening, Shivaraj Kumar invited friends from the industry including artists, producers, directors and other technicians who had worked with him all these years. Super Stars Ravichandran and Darshan also attended the function.
